Job Description

  • Must be a leader / manager in manufacturing
  • Must have a completed 4 year degree
  • Manages manufacturing activities in assigned areas, including supervision of supervisors.
  • Identify, develop and implement procedures to support total customer satisfaction.
  • Adhere to all safety rules to accomplish safety objectives and ensure all employees are properly trained in all matters of safety, including offering suggestions to improve safety.
  • Maintain high quality standards for the plant; engage in projects to support corporate quality policy and educates employees concerning quality procedures and issues.     
  • Develop and administer orientation training for direct reports focusing on personnel policy, coaching and counseling skills, continuous improvement, etc.   
  • Consistenly apply team building practices by assisting supervisors and hourly employees to work as a team. Ensure consistent and fair treatment of others to maintain a "union free" environment. Counsel and train direct reports and recognize achievement. Promote a work environment that is conducive to continual improvement.
  • Support programs and policies established in each plant; identify and develop programs to support: Customer Satisfaction, Quality, Cost Reduction, Customer Service, Waste Reduction and Material Yield.
  • Assist in annual budgeting and strategic planning to drive cost productivity.
  • Work with the Plant Managers and the Continuous Improvement Managers to identify projects and teams that support continuous improvement objectives, including eliminating unnecessary costs and waste. 
  • Assist in manager and supervisor selection by participation in the interviewing process.  Mentor new managers and supervisors and implement development plans for all direct reports.
  • Manage 6-12 subordinate supervisors and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field of study.
  • Minimum 4-6 years of related manufacturing/fabrication experience.
  • Read, analyze, write and interpret write professional business communication.   
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Spanish language ability is a plus.
  • Work with and apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
  • Solve practical problems using a variety of variables.
  • Interpret various instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Proficient in use of Word, Excel and Power Point.
