VP of Sales and Marketing
Greater Cleveland, OH Area
The compensation for this position will be commensurate with experience and will be a combination of salary plus bonus.
$25MM privately held industrial capital equipment company serving a broad range of industrial markets is seeking to add a VP of Sales and Marketing to their organization. Reporting to the Company President this position will be responsible for developing the Sales and Marketing Strategy for the company and will engage the organization to achieve the plan.
Develop Sales Strategy/Plan
– Design and implement a strategic business plan that expands company’s customer base and ensure it’s strong presence. Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status. Review and update as needed on an ongoing basis. (
10% of time will be spent in this area.
Develop Sales Team
– Mentor Sales Staff to build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs. Own recruiting, objectives setting, coaching and performance monitoring of sales representatives. (
50% of time will be spent in this area.
Measure and Communicate Sales Performance
– Measure Sales performance to plan. Present sales, revenue and expenses reports and realistic forecasts to the management team. (
15% of time will be spent in this area.
Develop and Improve Sales Process
– Develop and improve Sales process to achieve growth and hit sales targets by successfully managing the sales team thru established processes and accountability structure. (
20% of time will be spent in this area.
Assure Marketing Processes are aligned
to support our growth objectives. Coordinate with Marketing Specialist to align message and ensure needed tools and processes are available and effective. (
5% of time will be spent in this area.
Demonstrated ability to achieve results through others.
Excellent mentoring, coaching, process management and people leadership skills.
Successful previous experience in a sales role, consistently meeting or exceeding targets.
Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization.
Commitment to continuous education through workshops, seminars and conferences.
Strong business sense and industry expertise.
Comfort with about 30% travel. Could be higher in the beginning, but the steady state level was estimated at 30%
BS degree in business administration or a related field; MBA Preferred.
Experience with capital equipment or large ticket items.
Experience with high temperature and/or corrosive environments and applications.
Sandler Sales Process familiarity.
